Started the day out playing rather well. The weather was cooperating in Charleston today and it already 60* when we teed off at 745am this morning. A beautiful day to be in paradise. Had already hit a 20' birdie the first par three on the front nine. Started the back nine out with a nice recovery for a par and we came to number 11 with the wind blowing in our face about a two club wind. Pin on the mid front at 138 yards and the back of the green is severely banked towards the front. When these condition exist, I normally hit a six iron towards the back and hope it will trickle down towards the pin and hope for good position. It did today and the ball looked like it had eyes as it rolled up the embankment and slowly made it's was down the hill and dropped into the cup. The wind conditions on this hole make it interesting but according the golf pros, this was the seventh hole in one on this hole since the course reopened in December. There has only been one other hole in one and it was on hole number eight and it was last week.
This my fourth hole in one and all on this course. My first was in May 6, 2001, next May 4, 2012, December 23, 2015 and then today, January 25, 2021. I still need one on hole 14 to have had one on all four par threes. Have a nice collection of Titleist HIO bag tags. There room for even more.
Recovery coming along and a great way to start 2021. I was in the HIO pot. Seemed that sodas were more popular than beer in our senior group. If our guys are not in the money they leave in a hurry. Crusty ole bunch at times. =)
