  1. I found this on the course Thursday. Didn’t know if it was a prototype from the past? The dimples look a little smaller than current proVs

  2. That ball is probably 20+ years old. Balata is a material that is no longer used to cover golf balls because it isn’t very durable. However, these balls had very soft feel and lots of spin.

    At the time that ball was made, the R&A used a smaller ball than the USGA. Some did find their way over the pond.

    I'm not sure of your age, but if you were to cut it open, you will be very surprised.

    That was a great ball. Played alot of Tournaments with that ball. I still have a brand new dozen.

    That's an old Titleist 100 compression balata. The cover was so thin if you mis hit it just a little you'd cut the cover.
