    My son is playing more and more. Curious which Titleist ball would work best of a beginning youth player.

    Would you guys recommend the DT trusoft or Velocity?

    DT TruSoft, it's a better all around ball.

    Truesoft. A 9 year old won't have the swing speed to properly compress a velocity

    I must be in the minority but I would purchase either X-outs or maybe poke around in the pro-shop bargain barrel for a good fit for a 9 year old.

    Go to a sporting goods store and get a bag of recycled Titleist balls

    I would personally be careful with recycled balls. Depending on the "recycling" (there is a whole debate on refinished vs recycled) process, the ball can actually lose a lot of its characteristics after being repainted/repaired.

    If you're a bargain guy, X-Outs are great. Depending on his skill level he may do just fine with the Tru-Soft as well.
