Am a long time Pro V1 player, but I really was impressed with the consistent feel and control I had hitting this new ball. Especially with my short game and putting. It feels like it is softer and yet it has the distance the current Pro V1 and Pro V1x seem to have. It seems to be designed to stay on the clubface longer (compress more) and then spring off with consistent distances and spin.

Charles - Thanks for the post.  I had a similar reaction to you.  However, as is usually the case for me, I have a hard time differentiating within the Titleist brand when I do a comparison but I had no problem what so ever ranking the prototype ball as superior to the cally, swoosh and Brigestone "tour" caliber balls I compared it against.

I have been fortunate to receive the prototypes 4 of last 6 years.  My question to Charles is, do you think Titleist used the

Pink Pro V1 as a comparative test ball using black numbers and the grey test AIM line on the test ball? I bought a dozen of the Pink

Pro V's to use last winter and found them to play wonderfully. Took me back to the days of Titleist Balata 90 and Tour 100's when I

was more competitive at outside tourneys.

    Happy Fairways and Greens!

I received some also. They feel like the ProV1x's but I seemed to have better control and a little more distance. I love them. Hope they are what I think they are!!!!!

The biggest difference I noticed was with full wedges and short irons. The ball really compressed and I believe was at least 10 yards longer.

For those who have done this before -- did Titleist disclose what the prototype is?  How & when?  The biggest difference I noticed was more driver distance & hang time with the proto as compared to my regular ball, v1x.
