I was excited to receive the prototypes from Team Titleist.  Thought for sure I would have a secret weapon to use against the usual suspects.  The ball has a similar dimple pattern to the ProV1 but the performance was off the mark.  The first thing I noticed was with the driver.  The loud click had my group accusing me of playing a two piece ball which shall not be named.   The next thing was distance.  Very inconsistent.  The same shot with a mid iron was as much as 8 yards off.  Short irons and around the green felt like hitting a rock.  Little or no feel.  Putting was not much better.  Despite the pleas from my group to continue with the prototype (their motivation was not of good intentions), I switched back to the ProV1.  The difference between the two balls was immediate  and I was able to get back on track.  My competitors noticed it as well and agreed that they could tell the difference in the sound and my ball flight.     I gave one of the balls to my competitor at the start of the round.  He chose not to use it during the round. After playing with me and seeing and hearing the difference in the ball he gave it back and said thanks but no thanks.

I have read the other comments regarding the prototype and most have glowing reviews.  I wonder if we were all sent the same balls.  I hope mine was not the next ProV1.  R&D time to go back to the drawing board.  I can offer this piece of advice, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
