I did a Bridgestone Golf ball fitting on an outdoor LM and they compared my current ball to their line to determine the best ball for me with my driver.  They found the ProV1X was the best ball for my game.  I'll give them credit, at least they were honest. :)

I've played the ProV1X since the ball made its debut, and despite testing other golf balls, there is no other better all around ball in the game.  As a volunteer at the range of a PGA Tour event, I can tell you that it takes money for players to use any other ball.

I must have had different guys. Not only did they preach I needed a ball designed for slower driver speed, they wanted me to sniff competitors optic yellow balls to prove they were painted and not dyed yellow. Not sure what that proved. Still didn't perform as well overall as the -1x. Still can't find an optic ball that performs as well as NXT Tour or -1x.

Don, I played with the NXT tour in Optic Yellow the last 3 times Ive played, was super impressed with the drive distance and the forgiveness around the green.  I played the B-stone 6's in yellow and they drove well, but the feel around the green was horrible.  I agree, it takes a ton of money for the pros to play other balls, but I was honestly impressed with the NXTs.  I hit Q Stars mainly, and love them but the feel of the NXT is good for my game.  I don't have the swing speed others have so it definitely compliments my game well.

  4. While I have not done a Bstone ball fitting, I have done a Titleist Ball Fitting.  The fitter was amazing and we discussed with the various clubs how to get the most with your ball.  The immediate launch angle is different slightly for a ProV1 and ProV1x as many of you know however it seems for my game this is one of the major points on using one ball vs another.  The fitter suggested on my next trip to Oceanside I focus on getting my lofts slightly adjusted to adapt to my ball thus the clubs and ball become one as part of my game vs. just using any ball.  Very interresting discussion, I realize I have left out many points however I thought it would be good to share this story with everyone.

I went to a Titleist fitter last year.  It was great, thanks in large part to the fitter.  I wish I remembered his name, so I could recognize his work here.

I was already playing Pro V1xs, based on my results we came to the same conclusion that I should stick with it.  He asked a lot of questions about me, my game, and was very thoughtful in making his recommendation that I stay with the Pro V1x.  And I didn't complain when he gave me handful of Titleist logo'd tees and a couple sleeves of Pro V1x.
