I played The Tribute in The Colony, Texas yesterday and I teed up a Pro V1x ball and put a good swing on it. This is me standing by it only because it was my longest drive to date at 327 yards down the middle. There was about a 7 (give or take a few) mile per hour cross wind and the Tribute is a links style golf course so it may have got a good kick, but regardless I was happy. Pro V1x is long with little spin off the face and this proved it for me, its the only ball I want to play now.

  2. Congrats! Have you tried the ProV1? It is equally long to me...

I have before, but off the tee it just has too much spin for me, don't get me wrong I love both Pro-V1 and Pro-V1x but the X stays in play more often than not for me. Yes I do agree I can get the Pro-V1 pretty far as well.

I recently made the switch back to the Pro-V1 and my distance off the tee is going up.  I hit my second longest measured drive last weekend at 353.  I play tourneys and we measure 2 drives.  I haven't hit one that long in several years.  Loving the Pro-V1 again.  I still like the Pro-V1x, but you can't mess with distance like that and stopping power into the green.  Handicap is down to 1.9.

I just can't find a ball close to the Pro-V1x - the NXT-Tour is close, but buying the loyal package in March gets it down to a quarter difference per ball. I've been trying amber balls that I can follow especially on cloudy days, but none, including NXT-Tour-S are close. Unlike other companies that segment their products by swing speed, Titleist recommends the best balls for every golfer. Would be nice if they offered amber for the best balls for every golfer, including those whose vision isn't as sharp as it was 30 years ago.

Congratulations, Ronnie:  ......to be a young rubberback.......I'm in awe.....hit 290 in tournament play in senior's division last year and won long drive at 290......at 67 years young....I am happy.....my back would be sore for a week with that kind of distance......great job......I'm a Prov1 gamer..........910D3 driver.......in the middle is a great thing......  :-)
