I found this ball on the course last weekend. My guess is some kid took it from his dad's ball rack of special balls. It must be pre-balata. The inscription says "Acushnet K" with the recognizable Titleist script logo and the number 8. Any ideas how old it might be? Does Titleist have any on-line "museum" of old balls and equipment? That would be fun to browse through.

    Hi Pete,

That's a pretty cool find. You can check out our Facebook timeline (www.facebook.com/titleist) to see some historical milestones along with some other interesting facts about Titleist dating back to 1932.

    Cheers,

I remember the older Titleist balls in the 70s - DT with compression rating (100, 90, 80).  Definitely not for hackers.  Flew a mile when hit properly.  Had a smile if not hit properly.  My dad used DT 100.   The 80 compression balls were great for those that played in the frigid IL November weather.

That's sweet.  I found an old Professional 90 in my shag bag in my parents house.  I loved those balls, and this one looks older that that by a lot.  Very cool post.  Let us know if you find out more about it.
