I do. But I've yet to figure out what language it understands.
Greg ELakeland, FL
Of course I do... but it never listens... I think it's deaf! :-)
Michael P
Of course! Doesn't everyone? Although, I usually have to apologize for what I called it. I forget that it is not the ball's fault.

Definitely find myself talking to the ball after hitting approach shots. Funny enough, I don't talk to it much off the tee or on the green. Typically, I don't realize it.

Of course Josh! Someone has to sweet talk that little ProV1x to just go to it's HOME!

Only when it starts to fade towards water. Even then, I know it won't listen as it fades into a slice. Desperate times, desperate measures.

No, i don't talk to the ball. I just hit it ;)

I've never noticed myself doing it, but apparently I talk to my ball on most shots. After being told I do, I notice it all the time. It seems like almost everyone does it. So how about you? Do you talk to your ball? Do you realize you're doing it?

This question has to be one of the best yet. Yeah, I talk to my Pro V1(s). Most of the time, it's during approach shots. Some off of the tee. Sometimes it listens, but then, sometimes, it thinks it's a little funny hiding behind a tree or wanting to go for a swim with the fish.
I really don't know why I do it though. Good question.

I talk to my ball, yell at my ball, give my ball the silent treatment, anything to get that little white dimpled sphere to go where I want it to go. Usually with little effect. While I continue to talk to my golf ball, I am convinced they do not listen.
I have also been know to talk to my putter, which is a love/hate relationship. I have even locked my putter in a closet for a weekend to discipline him. Believe it or not, this actually worked and he began to make more putts after that.

Of course I talk to my ball, my driver, my hybrids, my irons, my putter. I have putters and wedges that have been banished to the dark basement because they don't behave.
Bryan WHillsboro, OR
I don't talk to the ball and my buddies know I don't like them to talk to it either. I guess it goes against the idea of letting go of the outcome and just focusing on what you can control. However it is fun to listen to others yell at the ball, most of the time to no avail. Cheers!

Surprisingly no. Now that I've noticed it, I would say about 3/4 do, but there's plenty of people out there who apparently communicate telepathically with their Pro V's...

i often ask my ball why it never goes straight!

I like to shape shots as much as possible. If I look at an approach shot and playing a little knockdown 3/4 shot is best and I hit it just like I want, I hate it when someone starts yelling "get up, get up". I'm saying "be right, be right". What upsets me even more is when it ends up inside 10' and they look at me and say "you hit that one thin didn't you?". What I really want to do is go pick up my 10" long divot and slap them with it!
Basically, I talk to my ball all the time, but it really upsets me for someone else to talk to it. It's kinda like kissing my wife.... I can do it, but I don't want you doing it!

All the time! I learned it from watching the LPGA on tv. Lots of times it listens....more times than not.
killerbgolferLacey, WA
I talk but it does not listen. Now I know what my wife must feel like.

Best response yet!
I played in a little tournament on Monday and hooked one into the wood. I yelled "spit it out" right as it went into the tree line and sure enough it did. Gotta love when it works out.

I not only talk to my ball, I talk to every ball in the group.
I even talk to lost balls.
PDADocEdgewater, NJ
Absolutely not! I've seen people doing it, however; I find it quite strange, not amusing, but odd. That's just me.
Really? LOL!
Dan CGreer, SC
Of course I do! Get up, get down, spin, sit, goooooooo!!!!!! Kick left, bounce right, come back, get down, stay there, stay up, I could keep going with more of the things I say to my ProV1's.
