It would be a better educated guess than just grabbing a club off the shelf. With such a large cost investment, I choose to get the fitting and take out any guesswork that might result in a waste of money to have to sell it used and try again. With most fitting costs being applied to the purchase of the club, it’s basically a free fitting. BTW, my driver shaft is a different weight than my fairways so it sometimes does matter to fit them differently.

With an exotic shaft, that runs around $825.

Even paying for a fitting would be a reasonable insurance policy. If you go with a Titleist sponsored fitting, it is free with a purchase.

Is it likely that you may end up with that combination. Our best advice and woth every penny you paid us for our opinion.

If you can get fit that is the best way. Generally speaking, the driver should be the lightest shaft in your bag. For me my driver is 65 grams, 4 wood is 75 grams and 7 wood is 85 grams. All three are the same shaft make (Tensei), model (1K black), and flex (X).

Is the Ventus a Black, Blue or Red? They might not make a 50g X in in black but might in blue or red.... but then you are looking at different shaft characteristics between them which might or might not be ok for you.

Agree with Dale. I was fitted and I have a different shaft on my Driver from my 3 wood.

I second Dale’s comment. I replaced my 3wood last year with a TSR2 3wood with Hzrds Black 4G 6.5. I was fit for a new driver earlier this year and going in wanted to start with the same shaft in the driver, TS2 also. The spin rate was a little too high with the 6.5 flex in the driver shaft, so I wound up in the TX flex. So same shaft but different flex.
