I apologize in advance for the length of this post, new(ish) golfer here who is just trying to figure out the equipment side of the game. Any comments, insights, or suggestions are appreciated

I was recently fit into the T200s 4-PW. 1/2" inch longer shaft and 2 degrees upright. I really enjoyed the clubs (my first set of non hand me downs), but have recently decided to swap out the 7-PW heads for the T150s (same shafts). I made the switch mostly because the T200s were a little hot off the face for my liking for scoring irons and distance control issues. I am keeping the T200s in 4-6 due to needed forgiveness in the longer irons. I am curious as to how I should adjust the loft to accomoate for the T200s being lofted 2 degrees stronger than its T150 counterparts. Should I change the 4-6 T200s to match the loft of what the 4-6 would be in the T150s?

As previously mentioned, I was fit into 1/2" longer shafts and 2 degrees upright. I am sure that I need the 2 degrees upright to help compensate for my extremely steep swing; however, I've recently thought about cutting the shafts back to standard. While playing with a friend recently who has club fitting experience, he told me that I should definitely be playing standard length shafts. I'm not sure why I was originally fit in to the longer shafts as I am 6'1 with a wrist to floor measurement of 36 inches. From all I have read, this should keep me in standard length shafts. All of that to say this, if I do cut the shafts down to standard, will it effect the 2 degree upright lie? If the shaft is shortened, will the lie consequently need to be readjusted?

Thanks in advance for any responses. They are greatly appreciated.

If you feel that the fitting was not right, based on your friend's evaluation, suggest taking take them back to the fitter and question him.

If you are happy with your strikes (i.e. largly center strikes) I wouldn't touch the shaft length- if you do shorten you wil have to will have to adjust 1 degree upright to maintain at 2 degree upright. Predicate you decision on adjusting lofts on need to correct distance gaps and work with a fitter as need be.

Go with what the fitter recommends. Static fitting is really only a starting point. The real factor is how you deliver the club at impact.

I used to be +1/2 inch and 3 upright years ago. When I was recently fitted, I was best at standard/standard. My swing has changed as I have gotten older and kept working on my game after a few years away.
  5. Cut the shafts and you will have to adjust lie - 200 I would say need to be bent one degree weak but you need to see ball speed and peak height to know for sure.
