    Hey all!

    I am probably going to be buying a new set of irons in the next year, currently playing TM R7s. My handicap is in the 30s, but I lose most of my strokes in the short game. I swing my 7 iron between 91-94 mph, and I have a high ball flight. I am not sure that game improvement irons are really for me even with the super high handicap.

    I love small player type irons, and I do work my shots occasionally and have some success doing that. With all of that said, I don't really need clubhead speed or high launch. I am looking primarily for forgiveness, feel, and a smaller iron profile. What would you suggest. The club fitting app suggests the T150s.

    I have learned through past fittings to not pre-determine the iron until the fitting process is complete. Only you and your fitter can make that final decision based on the results and your choice based on your feel, and your eye for how they look and perform.

    Shafts and ball selections can adjust for launch and dispersion. A Titleist fitting can get you to a balance of launch, distance, and forgiveness. Along with seeing how you do with your TM irons, the fitting will work with you across your full iron set. My personal recommendation is to get fit outdoors. A mat over a hard surface provides far more forgiveness for my swing than any choice of club head.

    I have to agree with my right honorable friend, Dale. Go to your fitting with an open mind and see what fits your game best, shaft and head. The new series of irons are off the charts and some have come away with a combination set (i.e. T100/T150) and do not be surprised if that is a recommendation from your fitter. I would try a few and see what your fitter and you come up with. Getting the right shaft and head combination, as you know, is the key, as well as getting a very experienced Titleist certified fitter. Good luck. Look forward to hearing the results of your fitting.     Best to have an open mind into a fitting, but good to have some initial thoughts and feelings for the fitter to help guide the process. I too love a smaller clubhead, would be MB if ball striking was more consistent.

    Sounds like T150 or T200. In a recent fitting, I was surprised that I couldn't tell a big difference between the two just looking down at address. T200 were more forgiving, especially in the longer irons. I attributed it to me being able to relax and let the club do all the work.
