I was playing another brand 825 Pro with S300 shafts, all standard settings. I wanted to change to titleist AP2's and the fitter stated that AP2's with the s300 in standard is a straight conversion. I haven't really played as well as I did with my previous set. Was wondering if anyone knew if that straight conversion is true or not? If it isn't, what would have been a proper setup to convert to?

    Thanks for the post.

Honestly, no, there is no such thing as an automatic "straight conversion". While the same shaft and specs may be transferable for some people, it most often does not work. Your old clubs could have had different lofts, different stock lie angles, the shafts could have been taper tip Vs. parallel tip, etc. There are too many variables to say what could be different.

With that said, it would be tough to give you any recommendations without seeing you hit balls. I would try to see a local Titleist fitter to see what loft, lie, length, shaft and head model truly works best.

Please let us know if we can help in any way.

    Thanks.

I'd take Bubba's advice and get fitted.  Especially coming from a different brand, it's unlikely the same shafts and maybe even the same specs, will perform the same.
