I am planning on ordering the 913 D3 driver with the stock D+72 stiff shaft in it. I was planning on ordering everything STANDARD and was just curious what is the stock swingweight for this driver? I normally play my driver shorter than standard at 44.5" & D4 swingweight, however I am wanting to try the 913D3-45"-standard length-D4sw, just to see if I can get a little more speed without sacrificing consistency. I understand that Titleist uses the 9g weight as stock, so if I decide to cut it down 1/2" I could just purchase the 14g weight and maintain D4 swing weight. Please clarify for me THANKS!

I guess I will just have to custom order it at 44.5" length, D4 swingweight to make sure the head will be weighted correctly.

Hi Matt,  If your shop orders the driver at 44.5" with a plus D 72 shaft, stock grip, and D4 swingweight, we will use a 14 gram weight to achieve that swingweight.  There is no upcharge to do so, but your shop will have to specify that swingweight when ordering.

What is the standard 45" driver swing weight with D+72 shaft???

Standard swingweight is D4 with that shaft, grip and at standard length.

    Hi,

    I also ordered a 913 D3 w/Diamana D+72 stiff shaft and Tour Velvet Cord 580 grip with 2 papers.

Except I requested it be 44" and to maintain the standard swing weight?

But when I just tried to calculate the swing weight for it, it came up as D1 borderline D2?

It came with the 14g weights, so I"m just wondering what has happened?

    Thanks

The driver you ordered was at 44" length than what I was requesting at 44.5". The swing weight changes 3 points per 1/2" length, and they would have needed to add aprx. 5g more to the head weight than what I requested to maintain D4. However with the 580 core TV grip aprx. 53 grams, you could get 1 point of that swing weight back if you use a lighter grip like the Golf pride New Decade Multi-compound grip at 46g. Basically 5g of grip weight = 1 sw point or 2g of head weight.

When you cut a shaft from 45" to 44", you will lose 5-6 swingweights depending on the balance of the shaft.  In head weight (to balance), that would equate to about 12 grams of additional weight.  The maximum swingweight we could achieve with a 44" Plus white 72 shaft and a cord grip was D1.  If you would like to get your swingweight higher, you will need to find a grip that weighs about 10 grams less that you currently have.

Thank you Cathi and Matt for your responses.

I'm liking the idea of the Winn dry-tac wrap lite (22gr standard or 23 grams 1/16"), hopefully this can give me that hammerhead feel that I have been searching for.

I tried it with my old R11s but with that I added aftermarket weights to the head to achieve that, where I thought you could do the same with the D3, but never thought to just change the grip.... (and realised you can't get weight higher than 14gr)

Thanks again for all your help :)
