When will we see a yellow Pro V1?

Is a 5 piece ball better then 4?

Just kidding.  I'm sure Bill Morgan would have fun with those!

Would like to know how the new Pro V1 and V1X compare against each other.  I know last year then spun similar from about 7 iron down, and actually the Pro V1X spun more off partial wedges, also it flew higher.  Is the same for the new models?  Or are the more radically different now?

Good question.  A tough one to answer due to the variance in the type of player hitting the ball. Given that the 2011 Pro V1 does spin more, it would be safe to say that the difference between the two has increased.

If you are comparing '11 Pro V1 vs '11 Pro V1x, yes the variance in spin between the two is less when you move from 'short irons' to 'wedges'. 

The focus of the 2011 Pro V1 was to provide the combination of distance, consistent flight, very soft feel and Drop-And-Stop greenside control.  Meanwhile, the focus of the 2011 Pro V1x was to provide low long game spin for long straight distance, consistent flight and Drop-And-Stop greenside control.

Hi there Mitch. 

I should probably know this, as a long time golfer, but what ball tends to launch higher?  For myself, I find that I hit the X higher but theoretically the Pro V1 should spin more?  Im sure the end result either way will be me making a quick trip over to Eagles Nest.  Or perhaps over to the range to practice more :)

Hi Ben,

Your question is actually a really good one as it brings up a common false belief about spin and trajectory.

Pro V1 spins more, but Pro V1x flies higher.  Spin does not equal trajectory.  It is an element, but not the only element in the equation that produces a specific ball flight.
