Okay, so last weekend we got to watch the Phoenix Open with crowds of only 5,000 per day vs the typical average of over 200,000. It certainly was an interesting tournament and if you take away the story of the crowds, the golf itself had a ton of stories. Rory made his first appearance and finally figured out the course on Sunday by that was too late. Steve Stricker (the old guy) was playing great and threatening the win. Jordan Speith showed flashes of his past championship talents with a super round on Saturday only to fade away on Sunday. And Brooks Koepka snuck through the crowded leaderboard and took the trophy home while everyone was standing there wondering what just happened :)
Now it is time for the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. A tournament that always brought in stars from stage, screen, and other sports venues to play along side the golf pros to provide entertainment in a different manner beyond their golfing skills. It will be interesting to see how they can modify the tournament given the pandemic limitations. Beyond the entertainment value, I always love watching them play at Pebble... So Many great holes !
