    Hi Mitch,

    Is it possible to provide some additional detail on how Titleist creates the Launch vs Spin charts for the Custom Options book? Is this based off actual ball flight data or on cpm measurements? I looked at the shaft performance guide page (www.titleist.com/shafts) which provides an interesting comparison of shafts but it didn't really explain the charts.

    Hi Travis,
    CPM Measurements are one of a few different factors that we use for these charts. We do so along the entire shaft...not just the butt and tip.
    We cannot gather this information from golfers actual ball flight because humans are simply too unpredictable and inconsistent.
    The measurements that you see on the charts are indeed data driven as a result.
    This is why we have the caveat at the bottom of the charts mentioning that each player may experience different results.

    As always, best to test for yourself with the help of a Titleist Certified Fitter.
