Hi everyone! Now that it is mid-July, I just wanted to check in and see how everyone's summer of golf is going for them. As for me, I have been blessed to play a at least once per week and on many occasions, 2-3 times per week. This past year, I eventually migrated my equipment over to a mostly Titleist bag (Driver, AP2's, Vokey Wedges and a Scotty Cameron putter). My handicap when I was younger was a 9 (back in my 20's). However, since then, I have experienced a torn rotator cuff (3 times in my left shoulder) and chronic tendonitis/tendinosis in the same shoulder in addition to the onset of osteoarthritis in my knees! It seemed that my hockey days had finally caught up to me! As you can imagine, my golf swing took a big hit as I had to sit out for several years while things properly healed, raised children, and all of the joys and activities that come with adulthood. Well, the past 3 years, I really took up the game again with renewed vigour and motivation. I enjoy waking up to a beautiful day, with the sun peaking out over the morning horizon, sipping my morning coffee before I set out for a round of golf. I truly enjoy the outdoor surroundings, the dewy grass rapidly drying as the heat of the sun starts to make its presence felt. The birds chirping nearby, whether it be the big bald eagle majestically surveying the land (and looking for prey on the golf course) or the wily crows and ravens that follow golfers around looking for a morsel here and there or the chance to steal something out of my bag! Approaching the tee box, surveying the fairways and my sight line as I tee up my ball and prepare to hit my shot. Standing over my ball while I consider the best angle of attack to the green, pondering things like the slight breeze coming into my face and calculating the right club for the distance. After taking a read on the line that I want, I start focusing on putting on a good swing , giving me the best chance for executing my shot. This leads to the exhilarating feeling when I manage to do what I envisioned, seeing my ball land in the target area, giving me a chance to make a one putt and a good score on the hole! After days like this, I reflect back and think of how satisfied I am with my Titleist clubs... the feel of a well struck driver that sends the ball bounding down the fairway, putting me into a mid iron or shorter distance to the green. I love the feel of a well struck shot with my AP2 irons or my Vokey wedges as the ball pierces through the air, landing in the target area. Of course, the solid feel of my putter as I manage to stroke the ball on my line -- and even if it doesn't go in I am satisfied that I managed to lag it close enough for a virtual tap in. Lastly, I feel particularly satisfied with how well my ball performed (I have been using the PRO V1x this summer and am just loving it!). So, thanks for reading this post and thanks Titleist for making golf fun again for me!

    Very nice DIno...

Like you I absolutely enjoy going around the course with Titleist in my bag, and three fellow golfers playing along side in a fun competition. We play a best ball twosomes match with a low / aggregate scoring for our match. The losing team buys the basket of fries at the end of the round when we sit around and reminisce over the success or failures of the day.

It is funny that while reading your story where you mentioned the birds singing and perhaps a bald eagle flying over I was reminded about an episode recently where my partner and I were struggling a little in our match. Walking down the fairway we noticed a bunch of Turkey Vultures circling overhead. Both of us looked up and then at each other and just laughed. Nothing needed to be said :)

Enjoy your summer and your time on the links !

Hi Steve, Thanks for the positive comment - feedback. I will keep the book thing in mind! Hahaha ... if only I could find some time away from Golf in order to more properly ponder and perform that kind of an undertaking! Maybe I will look into a collection of essays from fellow golfers? D

My enjoy of golf includes all the nature aspects along with forgetting about hectic work and home events and most of all my mortgage ,car payments and bills but after that 4-41/2 hour round it's back to reality till the next tee time when I get to smack my ap2's around again

    well said!!!

my favorite thing about golf is getting a delicious hot coffee and getting one of the first tee times first thing in the morning and teeing off just as the sun is peaking out. The dew on the grass, the smells, the sounds of a quite course except hearing the ball on the club face and birds in the background. My only little piece of heaven.
