Hi All I am looking to get a set of Steelfiber shafts installed on my back up set of 712 AP1s, I have been told that the heads are made specifically for the shafts that were originally installed - in this case Nippon Pro 105T reg flex. My question is this - to keep the same Swingweight as is present on these steel shafts, what would I have to tip weight the Steelfiber shafts to get the same swingweight. Or if someone could tell me the difference in the actual iron heads (weight wise) - heads for graphite shaft versus steel shafts I could go from there. Thanks in advance to all that may be able to help me

The heads will be the same they would just pick heavier heads if possible for a Steelfiber installation, they also have special tip weights that fit into steelfibers. Some of the heavier weight steelfibers don't have a very big mandrel hole to fit the tip weights.

If you are doing this yourself it can be done but chances are you will still need some lead tape on the heads to get the swingweight back up. If standard for a steel set is about D2 at standard length most steelfibers will come out 3-5 points lighter.

Thanks Matthew I couldn't get any tip weights so had the shafts installed onto the heads and you are correct. The SW is around a C7 so have to add some lead tape to make up the difference. Got hit by a car shortly after having this done, so its been on the backburner but I will be experimenting with the lead tape. How many strips do you think I will need to get it to a D0 or D1
