  1. Hey, so I'm looking to buy some new golf balls for this season. The course I play at requires you to shape your shots and with the greens being so 'hilley' (hillish? Its got a lot of steep greens) it needs lots of spin around the green with pitching and especially off the longer wedge shots to stop it by the hole. Any suggestions on which ball I should look into getting a pack of?

    Matt...

My suggestion would be to go with the Prov1 or the ProV1x.

Both give you the ability to shape your shots off the tee, and both have exceptional spin (when hit correctly) when chipping or pitching onto a green.

    Enjoy !

Matt, you might want to check out the golf ball fitting app under the Golf Balls tab at the top of the website. It's a good way to get an idea of which balls will fit your game. There are several models that produce higher spin on approach/greenside shots. You'll definitely want to consider performance on tee shots too.

    Hi Matt,
    Great question!
For starters, if you haven't already done so, you should check out this page: http://www.titleist.ca/golf-ball-fitting/
It provides insight into golf ball selection and dispels many myths out there related to golf ball fitting.

Pro V1 and Pro V1x  have the best scoring performance for all golfers with very soft feel.
Both have equally excellent spin and scoring performance with short irons and wedges.

Pro V1x has Pro V1 performance with low long game spin and higher flight.  Thus, should you want to shape metal and long iron shots as well, Pro V1 will spin more than Pro V1x.
That said, if you are looking for a higher flight with metals and long irons than Pro V1 provides you, Pro V1x will likely provide you with that performance.

Here is a chart from the link above that will illustrate this clearly:

    We hope this helps Matt.
If you have any other questions please let us know.

Just my opinion, but I often wonder why everyone just doesn't play the Titleist ProV line of balls, they help you score and to 'feel' your shots.  I often give 3 ball sleeves of Pro V's to the players in my social tournament groups and it's always an eye opener to them.... the light comes on!
