We have heard from a lot of Team Titleist Members over the years and many set goals you want to achieve during the golf season.

Your goal could have been almost anything...eg. breaking a milestone score, winning the Club Championship, reducing the number of putts per round, keeping driver in the short grass more often, finding more time to simply play with friends and family.

Whatever your goal(s) was in the spring, can you say that you have achieved it already this season?

There is PLENTY of golf left to be played, but we're curious how your game is progressing in relation to your expectations.
If you haven't reached your goal(s)  yet, how to you plan to continue trying?

Personally, I have been working on my game around the green.  Tee game and iron game have been pretty solid this season but when I miss a green I'm not getting up and down nearly as often as I should...mostly due to poor chipping.  Admittedly, I am not quite where I want to be yet but I'm confident that continued practice will turn things around.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Great topic Mitch. This year has been by far one of my best seasons. I was struggling with my driver and fairway woods last year until I was fitted at Eagles Nest for the 913 line up. My drives have been more consistently in the fairway which makes for an easier approach shot. I've always excelled at my short game and have great finesse with chipping and putting. In fact it seems to be a regular occurance that I chip in at least once a round. All in all my scores have lowered with the success of the fitting at Eagles Nest. I have been playing more rounds this year and have a lot more planned for the rest of the season. This season can only get better with the amount of golf I've been playing. Now I just can't wait to get fitted for some new 714 irons.

Looking forward to seeing how other Team Titleist members are making out with their goals so far.

    Cheers Shawn

My goal was to lower my handicap given that I was slowly climbing with the threat of leaving the single digit category.

I went to the Titleist Fitting Center at Eagles Nest and had a fitting for a new driver. That has helped immensely and along with my improvement in my chipping (thanks to the help of a fellow member at our club) my index has dropped to an all-time low of 4.6 just in time for our Club Championship. Now - if I can only play well when it counts :)

I had one simple golf goal this summer

    • Beat Mitch D

Unfortunately so far I have not succeeded as the pressure has been too much to handle; I mean look at his form (see http://www.titleist.ca/teamtitleist/ca/f/224/t/22202.aspx), its intimidating.  I have a feeling my losing streak will end over the course of the next couple weeks.  The driver is now finding the fairway, the irons/wedges are throwing darts and every so often the putter is rolling in birdies.

Mitch's reign at the top is quickly coming to an end.

Thanks for the good read Ryan that's awesome. I think we should set up a Team Titleist challenge to try and beat Mitch. Does that sound like I a good idea? I'd give it a shot lol.

As an update to our Club Championship...

I did my best and carried a one stroke lead into day two. My game was only a little off on a few holes, but in the end I can't say I lost, but rather the ultimate winner did exactly that - he played a great back nine shooting even par for the nine and even made a birdie on the last hole to finish with flair. I saw shots made that truly made me understand that although having great equipment is helpful, talent has a lot to do with shooting a great score.

So - for next year, I have a new challenge. Keep working on my game with my Titleist Driver and Irons, and work on the weaknesses that showed themselves while in the thick of the championship.

Every game provides an opportunity to learn and improve.

Mid season goals have been met for sure from shooting 85-88 now shooting 77-82 from now on i wouldn't mind going lower but if i stay like this the rest of the season ill be happy ! lots of work still to be done on the range golf everyday and now with my new 913 coming in my game will be even better... especially with the rush the amazing guys did to get my driver to me in a week... sadly won't see it till I'm home from holidays but i just want to thank the guys at titleist for the rush ! you guys are amazing !

My goal this season was to play at least 2 rounds/week and work on my ball striking, and when I can, practise my short game.  Like Mitch, my tee and iron game are pretty solid but I don't get up and down as much as I'd like.  The short game is coming and my wedge game is getting much better.  There's still lots of golf left and I'm looking forward to what the rest of the season brings!

My goal this year after a 3rd degree shoulder separation on New Years Day, was to recover to the point of a few even par or better rounds by the end of the season. I did this a few weeks ago by shooting 68 at my home track and have since played a couple 9 hole rounds under par. I'm calling this season a success and won't be goin tobogganing with the kids over the holidays this year :)

I also achieved a life long goal by playing the Old Course in April. Thanks to the shoulder, the scores weren't all that great, but I played the old lady 3 times and had the time of my life with my dear old dad.

My goal is always to win my club championship, yesterday after 3 years of playing in this tournament, I won. Its only an 18 hole tourney and with a hdcp of 6, I was pleased to shoot 77 good enough for the win. Ever since I picked up my 913 d3 and 913fd my long game has improved immensely. I am confident that I will keep improving using my Titleist gear, and the new pro v 1x is a missile . Loving the game right now more than ever , thanks team Titleist....

Season has been a great success.  Glad it is not over yet. My whole bag is Titleist but it is my irons, short game and putting that are    Lowering my scores. I have gone from at 10.9 to and 8.1 index this year and looking at my last 10 scores I am getting scary consistent regardless of what course I play...seem to be in the 76-82 range.  Thanks to my wife for taking up golf I have been practicing more going to the range with her and have added in a second round a week to play with her....haha

just need to get my 910 d2 driver set right still as that is my one area to improve on....it's weird have not been able to hit a driver in awhile....thoughts?

I can hit my ap2 3 iron 230 yards with roll.

i can hit my 910fd 3 wood 260 with roll

And I only hit the big stick 250 with roll.

I know people will just say leave the driver in the bag....but I don't want too, haha

    Thanks Titleist.

I didn't set a specific mid-season golf goal this year but I have almost reached my end of year goal and we are just past the mid point of our season. After playing very poorly for a couple of summers I started last fall to replace all of my equipment starting with the woods (new ones were Titleist of course) and completed the change over with a set of AP2's in April. Still kept my trusty Scotty Pro Platinum which has served me well for a very long time. Improved alignment, tempo, and practicing 2-3 days a week has resulted in going form a 7.6 index to a 5.0 as of yesterday's round. The goal for the year was to get my index under 5.

However there is still lots of room for improvement and lots of time to work on it as we routinely can play here until the middle/end of November. I feel like my end of year goal should now be to get my index under 4.

What I need to do to shoot better scores is pretty simple: hit more fairways and more greens in reg. My short game is pretty consistent but I need to eliminate the blow up holes that are a result of a bad tee shot. It is the 1 or 2 double bogeys a round that really hurt me and are almost always the result of a poor tee shot.
