  1. Looking for feedback.  I have been playing Titleist 962's for over 10 years.  The grooves are not what they use to be.  I have decided to purchase a new set of irons.  I am sold on Titleist  so it be one of the following sets AP2's, CB's or MB's. Here is a little info: I'm a 4 handicap, play about 50 rounds a year.  The 962's are great looking for the comparable set today.  The iron play is probably the most consistent part of my game.  Really like the look of the MB's not sure if I'm will to go to that aggressive club.  Thoughts or comments??

I would first suggest waiting for the new 712 series and you could get yourself a combo set of the CB/ MB or even AP2/CB depending on how much forgiveness you are after.

I went from the 962's to the AP2's, but prior to the AP2's I played a traditional muscleback blade like the MB's, what I find with the AP2's or the 962's is the ball wants to fly straight with the shorter irons, with the blades you can work it much easier. My dream set if I were to update again will be the 21 degree 910H, the 4, 5, and 6 irons in the AP2 or CB, the 7 thru PW in the MB, than vokeys in 52, 56, and 60 with Driver and 3 wood.

The new 712 line looks awesome.  Best bet I would say is to wait until the new lines are launched and try them out and be fit.  All the models look so nice, and I bet perform even better!!

    Hi Kurt,

You've already received some great feedback from the team.  At your skill level, a lot of it really comes down to preference and what you'd like out of your irons.  To give you some perspective, MB's are the #1 iron on tour while CB's and AP2's flip flop in the #2 position.  Thus, all three are very much validated on tour and with better players.  Of course, AP2 are going to be the most forgiving out of the group but still allow you to work the ball.  MB's then CB's are going to provide you with the most feel and workability.

The best thing you can possibly do is get fit.  Also, don't be afraid of blending two sets as Matt and Frank have already mentioned.  Some people shy away from this because that's now how they may see them on the shelf.

If you need help finding a Titleist Authorized Fitter, please let us know and we'd be happy to recommend one in your area.

    All the best,
