The PGA heads south of the border this week to beautiful Playa del Carmen, Mexico for the 12th playing of the OHL Classic at Mayakoba, where Titleist is once again the overwhelming golf ball of choice among players with 77% of the field (102 players in the field of 132) trusting a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball, more than six times the nearest competitor with 11% (15 players) and more than all competitors combined.
Titleist is also the top choice in hybrids (23) and shares the top spot in irons, with 31 sets in play. Vokey Design Wedges topped the approach, sand and lob wedge (175) category and Scotty Cameron putters are the choice of more players than any other brand with 49 in play.
The action will unfold again on the par-71, 6,987-yard layout at El Camaleon Golf Club at Mayakoba Resort, challenging players with three distinct landscapes - mangrove jungles, limestone canals and postcard stretches of tropical beach.
The signature hole at El Camaleón is the 155-yard, par-3 15th, which runs alongside the Caribbean, but the course's most interesting hole might be No. 7, which incorporates a cenote, a massive underground cavern, in the heart of the opening fairway.
FAST FACT: The Mayakoba Golf Classic made golf history in 2007 when it became the first PGA TOUR event to ever be contested outside of the United States or Canada.
Good luck this week to all of #Team Titleist this week in Mexico!
