Lots of good information on the main website about these balls. Titleist has four premium balls which have the highest price point but the greatest playing characteristics. ProV1, ProV1x, ProV1x Left Dash, and AVX. The other balls are still good but have less layers and made of materials that are not as expensive so they are in the lesser price points. Nothing compares to the premium balls but if you go through balls frequently and are on a budget, nothing wrong with using one of the lower priced models.

The Tour Speed is no longer in the Titleist lineup. It was fit in between the AVX and the Tour Soft. It has a cast urethane cover, like AVX and can spin more than a non-urethane cover. Most average golfers don’t have enough skill or replace wedges with worn groves to notice the difference. Existing stock in retail outlets is all there is.
The TruFeel is the softest feel 2 piece ball and lowest priced ball. Often preferred by slower swing golfers.
The Pro-V lines offer superior performance even for less skilled players. The 2 piece ionomer balls Tour Soft, Velocity, and TruFeel are alternatives. There is a ball selector tool on the web page under “Balls” to describe the differences.

Give them a try. I am not sure anything is better. Balls are just different. It's what works best for you. Good luck with your search.

I didn’t realize there’s a new Tour Speed this year. I was really excited for the AVX but my wedges scuff the cover on the new version. I’d like a lower compression version with a more durable cover.

There is not a new Tour Speed. It has been dropped as the Tour Soft and Tour Speed have been blended into the current Tour Soft. Compression is not really going to be different from your AVX but cover material is different. For what you might gain in durability you may sacrifice some hold into the greens.

I have played Titleist golf balls as long as I have been playing golf, 42 years
Have two sons who have played professionally and brought them up on Titleist golf balls which they have never played anything but.
I don’t believe there is a better golf ball on this planet than a Titleist golf ball

Have been playing the Tour Speed lfor several years and am sorry to see it discontinued. From a comment above it sounds like I should go to the Tour Soft. That said, I have played some Softs and prefer the Speed. Any recommendations?

4 dozen AVX balls just arrived… Have a dozen prior generation left. Can’t wait to get to new balls.

I’m a beginner golfer and I just got a box of the TruFeel and going to test them out during my next round and will let you know what I think. Would also appreciate any suggestions for good balls to use that are forgiving for beginner golfers, I believe the TruFeels are a good place to start but open to any suggestions!

The website has a section on Balls that explains the differences between each ball. As a beginning golfer, the assumption is a fair number of balls tend to find water or deep undergrowth never to be seen again.
The a Pro-V products can help golfers at any experience level. Losing more than a sleeve a round can be costly. Without knowledge of your age/ club head speed, if the TruFeel feels too soft or balloons too much, Velocity is another choice to control the costs of wayward shots.

Joey, you will not find that one golf ball is "more forgiving" than another. You will find that as you develop your golf "feel" that you will find some golf balls react differently to your game. Some fly higher, spin more, sound softer, etc. Starting with TruFeel is a good idea if you are budget-minded and are losing balls as a beginner. As you progress, you might consider locking into a ball model and sticking with it for an extended period. I found it easier to judge lag putting and chipping when I had the consistent feel from the same ball. Good luck and enjoy the journey.

I am a 23-handicap, so consistently playing a Prov1 is a no-go for me. I have played the trufeel and tour soft consistently and I like them both. The tour soft feels much better to me but the price of the trufeel is very appealing. In the end, I pay a little more for the tour soft to slice into the woods because it makes me feel better.
